NOTE: it calls for 150lbs of sand. unfortunately, when i went to get the sand, it does not list the weight. if you go to lowes or walmart, it takes 3 and 1/2 bags to fill it up. i've seen people say that the ball loses it's color out in the sun, well, instead of taking it down everyday, i just take a plastic grocery bag and tie it around the ball when not in use, easy fix!

Flagepole To Go Fiberglass Flagepole (28-Feet) Review

(More customer reviews)I was intrigued by the idea that this 28' flagpole would be easily portable and durable. Silly Me! It is of telescoping design with aluminum carabiner style clips for the flags. Individual sections slide out and are held by friction, no lock pins or collars. The pole is described as fiberglass, feels more like cheap plastic. I don't see how this will hold up to winds. The base is only 2.5" or (2 1/2") diameter and the top section is only about .75" or (3/4"). The silver ball on top is approx 3" in diameter, made of cheap plastic and fused to the top of the pole. Mine arrived broken off, oh joy!
Pole doesn't come with any ground mount accessories, or any mount period! All must be purchased separately.
I would steer clear of Flagpoles to go products!
The order was messed up from the start, I ordered it next day Prime and received it late. After playing e-mail tag with an uninterested Customer Service Rep, it finally arrived today.
Ok ready to open...Now for the packaging! Not packed properly. Box had visible damage, and a puncture. Flagpole was allowed to shift in package resulting in damage. Crumpled newspaper was used as packing material. Plastic bag containing flagpole was torn open, and ball was broken off the top.
FedEx driver obviously knew the package was damaged, they left the package at the door and sped off. They did not knock or ring bell. They knew I was home, the car was in the driveway. Dog alerted me to presence at door. I was 15 ft away from door, by the time my dog barked and I reached door (maybe 5-6 seconds) FedEx driver was long gone!
All in all a crappy experience, with ordering and delivery. Not worth #149!
Used the Online return option with UPS Pick-up, we will see how that goes tomorrow!
Guess I'll try the Sunsetter Brand next ....?

True, these appear to be galvanized and should resist rust, but time will tell.

We have a big propane grill at the house so it seemed logical to use that same bulk canister to power our camping appliances. Very simple to use. My only complaint would be the length. If it was another 24" taller it would get the lantern up higher to illuminate more of the campsite. Otherwise, works as advertised.
